Fallen Star

Grass dewy breezes leak the corner of midnight
Faint crickets ballet through their own echoes~
Quiet thickens in slated blues,
Stars transcend beyond the dew,
A quaint sudden chillness
Transfixed in pure stillness.

Then...
Surrounded...
Flying diamonds,
Stars from heavenly heights,
shinning, shimmering,
cascading...
then~
dim-in-ish-ing.

Forever and again I know this show,
Breath of wonderment
spilling to
piles of emptiness.
Brilliance displayed,
seemingly...
just to~
dis-si-pate.

No
more
than...
a left behind light~
from a faded
star.

  1. stars falling - stars rising, a never ending wonder / you take me in this incomprehensible space of dark and light / that we fortunately cannot manage or rule / it is here for us to observe and enjoy and be surprised / this is what your poem does with me / thank you

  2. By the way,you surely know the brilliant British classical music "The Planets" of Richard Holst - it can be a good companion for your poem Fallen Star.
    Some information -
cit: The Planets is the most frequently performed piece of British 20th century music with immediate and lasting appeal across every generation and all kinds of music-lovers. This release marks the first recording of The Planets on EMI for nearly 20 years. Sir Simon Rattle joins conducting giants Sir Adrian Boult and Leopold Stokowski before him in bringing this powerful work to fresh ears, this time for a whole new audience in the 21st century.
